Shikigami Games was founded by an artificial intelligence researcher. Shikigami Games is self-funded. Combine those two things are it should come as no surprise that many of our staff have day jobs. The company founder still teaches AI and does academic research.

Kyle Anderson

Kyle writes the games. When not busy working on Shikigami Games, he works as a programmer at Warp The Form games, Brainfarm Entertainment and Carlstrom. A graduate of Brown College’s Game Design and Development program, Kyle was a TA for baylor’s AI course, where he wrote AI Game, a HoMM4-clone turn based strategy with scriptable AI used to teach strategic thinking and AI programming. He also wrote GopherTD, used in baylor’s dissertation work on strategy representation. He’s written a lot of games for baylor.

baylor is the AI guy. He studied psychology and artificial intelligence, which is where PaperDoll came from - it was at one point his Ph.D. dissertation topic (it was also, at one time, used to build a military training tool). His video game work has been published in books and conferences and invited talks and stuff like that. He taught video game programming and AI at Brown College from 2006-2008 and currently teaches writing and artificial intelligence at The University of Minnesota.
